The Hub Briefing Community Code of Conduct
Purpose of the Community
The Hub Briefing is a professional Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) community established to support learning, collaboration, mentorship, professional development, career growth and industry engagement.
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to maintain a professional, secure and respectful environment that enables members to connect, learn, share knowledge and contribute meaningfully to the profession.
By participating in any The Hub Briefing platform, group or activity, members agree to comply with this Code of Conduct.
1. Professional Conduct
Members shall conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all times.
Respect differing viewpoints and engage in constructive discussion.
Personal attacks, harassment, bullying, discrimination, intimidation or derogatory comments will not be tolerated.
Members should communicate in a manner that reflects positively on the Governance, Risk and Compliance profession.
2. Purpose and Relevance
Discussions, questions and shared resources must be relevant to Governance, Risk, Compliance, Company Secretarial Practice.
Memes, GIFs, chain messages and unrelated social content are not permitted unless specifically approved by an administrator.
3. Confidentiality and Information Security
Members must not share confidential company information, client information or sensitive organisational information.
Personal information, including contact numbers, email addresses, identity numbers, banking details or other confidential information, may not be shared unless approved by the admin.
Members are responsible for ensuring that information shared does not breach confidentiality obligations, legislation, professional obligations or organisational policies.
Group discussions may not be copied, forwarded or distributed outside the community without consent.
4. Privacy and Member Protection
Members must exercise caution when sharing information online.
Unsolicited private messaging, solicitation, recruitment, sales activity or requests for personal information are prohibited without legitimate cause.
Members who receive suspicious messages or inappropriate approaches are encouraged to report them to the administrators.
The Hub Briefing does not accept responsibility for interactions that occur outside official Hub platforms or those that go against group rules.
5. Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration
Members are encouraged to share knowledge, resources, experiences and best practices.
Questions are welcomed and members are encouraged to support one another through constructive engagement.
Professional disagreement is acceptable; disrespect is not.
There is no such thing as a stupid question when the intention is to learn and develop professionally.
6. Recruitment and Career Opportunities
Recruitment opportunities may only be shared within designated career groups or approved channels.
Recruiters should provide sufficient information regarding opportunities to enable members to make informed decisions.
Members remain responsible for conducting their own due diligence before applying for opportunities or sharing personal information.
The Hub Briefing does not guarantee employment opportunities nor endorse any recruiter, employer or vacancy unless expressly stated.
7. Commercial Activity and Promotions
Self-promotion, unsolicited marketing, advertising, sales activity, paid events and commercial solicitations are prohibited unless expressly approved by the administrators.
Approved Hub programmes, cohorts, mentorship initiatives, events, strategic partnerships and authorised service provider activities may be exempt from this restriction.
Members may not use the community primarily as a platform to market products or services.
8. Member Solicitation
Members may not privately solicit business, recruit clients, market services, request payments or promote external opportunities to other members without prior approval from the administrators.
Any form of spam, mass messaging or unsolicited commercial activity may result in immediate removal from the community.
9. Participation and Engagement
Members are encouraged to actively participate in discussions and contribute to the community.
Professional engagement, knowledge sharing and collaboration are encouraged.
Respectful participation strengthens the value of the community for all members.
10. Events, Webinars and Industry Opportunities
Relevant industry events, conferences, webinars, workshops and seminars may be shared where they contribute to professional growth and development.
Event announcements should include sufficient information regarding the nature and purpose of the event.
Administrators reserve the right to remove event posts that are deemed promotional or inconsistent with the objectives of the community.
11. Document and Resource Sharing
Members should only share documents, templates, articles or resources that are relevant to the community's objectives.
Shared documents should not contain malicious software or security risks.
Members are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights or permissions to share documents and resources.
12. Language and Communication
Communication should be clear, respectful and professional.
English is the preferred language to promote consistency and accessibility across the community.
Members should avoid excessive use of abbreviations, slang or language that may create confusion.
13. Professional Advice Disclaimer
Information shared within the community is intended for discussion, learning and professional development purposes.
Members remain responsible for obtaining appropriate professional, legal, tax, regulatory, governance or other specialist advice where required.
The Hub Briefing, its administrators, directors, volunteers and contributors shall not be liable for decisions made based on information shared within the community.
14. Moderation and Enforcement
Administrators reserve the right to moderate discussions and remove content that is inconsistent with this Code of Conduct.
Members who violate these rules may receive a warning, have content removed, be suspended or be removed from the community.
Administrative decisions are made in the best interests of the community and are final.
15. Feedback and Suggestions
Constructive feedback and suggestions are welcomed and encouraged.
Members should communicate concerns, suggestions or complaints directly to the administrators rather than through public group discussions.
The Hub is committed to continuous improvement and values member input.
16. Reputation and Professional Standards
Members are expected to uphold standards consistent with the Governance, Risk and Compliance profession.
Conduct that may bring the community, profession or fellow members into disrepute may result in administrative action.
Members should strive to contribute positively to the development and reputation of the profession.
17. Amendments to this Code
The Hub Briefing reserves the right to amend, update or revise this Code of Conduct from time to time.
Members will be notified of material changes where appropriate.
Continued participation in the community constitutes acceptance of the current version of this Code of Conduct.
